You know what movie I want to see? Collateral Beauty. It’s about a successful New York advertising executive who suffers a great tragedy, and when he retreats from life, his friends try to reconnect with him. He looks for answers by writing letters to Love, Time and Death and begins to understand how these three interlock and how important connecting is in a life well lived.
This past Saturday, I hosted an open sew session. Twenty like-minded women packed into Madalynne Studios to enjoy a few hours of hot chocolate, sweet treats, goodie bags, sewing, lots of laughs and much more. Unlike my bra workshops, which are much more intense, it was community event with the goal of connecting local sewists and bringing them together to mix, mingle and of course, sew!
I left the corporate world in August to live the life that I wanted to live, and to be ‘successful’ defined by my own terms. More than ever, I now question why I do what I do. Why do I get up in the morning? Is it to answer 200 emails in a cubicle? Thankfully, not anymore. In my new life, I’m all about connecting with others, helping others connect and living a well-lived life. This Saturday was a reminder that I’m finally living the life I want and I’m making it work.
A huge thank you to PFAFF for sponsoring the event, providing the amazing goodie bags, and offering to give away a Passport 2.0. Congrats to Vivi for being the lucky winner. Merry merry Christmas pretty lady!
